Solar Printing (Ages 11+)
Wednesday, June 43:30—4:30 PMActivity RoomFlint Memorial Library147 Park Street, North Reading, MA, 01864
Join us for solar printing, also called cyanotyping! This is an intergenerational art program designed for adults and teens (sixth grade and above).
We will use sun print paper that is coated with a photo-sensitive chemical that reacts in light. The photo-sensitive paper turns pale blue when exposed to light. Water stops the chemical process and fixes the shadows of the objects on the sun print paper.
We will walk around the outside of the library to collect leaves, twigs, and other natural objects for our prints and then let them set in the sun. This event is designed for those ages 11+. All supplies are provided and no prior experience is expected. Please register in advance.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Eleanor Richard, Young Adult Programs, at erichard@northreadingma.gov or Emily Klesaris, Library Program Coordinator, at eklesaris@northreadingma.gov.
Capacity: 12 of 16 spaces available.
Note: Registering more attendees than spaces available will automatically place your attendees on this event's wait list.
